The assignment was to write a paragraph comparing and contrasting two characters we had read about. The paragraph was to be at least 8 sentences in length. (A random guideline, I admit, just to make sure that they wrote something meaningful rather than some one-sentence blurp.)
My student Thanasis wrote an excellent paragraph, and at the end he included a disclaimer:
"I didn't write so many sentences, because as you see, I used many linking words to create complex sentences."
